Halfway through a moss dripping labyrinth of tunnels, caves and upside down staircases is a marble fountain below a base relief. On either side a tight spiral staircase leads symmetrically up and around making an crescent around the fountain which is embedded in the wall and festooned with carved leaves churning in intricate designs up the sides. At the top is a 30 foot long curving sculpture depicting a night garden under a full moon with animal headed men chasing children shrouded in linen night clothes. Hiding in dank alcoves ready to spring out. Behind is a strange Manner of twisted spires and oddly angled roof tiles. Beside the open main door, a vast heavy wooden door patterned with spikes and gnarly lion headed knockers is a small door Perhaps 2 foot wide and 5 foot tall, set off to the side Most walk by it to see the great fireplace of the Great Hall straight ahead. Behind the small door is a tight sideways squeeze of some 13 stairs cascading down in a claustrophobic nightmare of stone into a small oppressive room carved form the bedrock. Ahead is a strange altar in the plain stone alcove, behind is a large masonic icon and you realize the altar is drawing you with its ominous weight and this feeling of oh oh something here is just so not right. The altar rises 4 feet from the floor ,having been left while the stone of the room around it was removed. Its all a single piece a part of the rock itself. The tiny altar is very plain and has an inset trough around the 3 foot rectangle ....on the outside right hand corner is a hole in the trough hanging above a large urn. Of a sudden your belly tightens and your mind lulls as you realize this is not a place you were meant to be, this is not a place anyone should be and this is not a place where natural things have ever occurred. Welcome to Cintra @ the worlds End.
